Prepare 1/4 cup toor dal
Get 1/2 cup chana dal

Make ready 1/2 cup dahi/curd
Take 1/2 dudhi(bottle gourd)
Prepare 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
Prepare 1 teaspoon ginger garlic and green chilli paste
Prepare 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Prepare 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Get 1 tablespoon oil
Take to taste Salt
Make ready For tempering
Make ready 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
Get 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
Take 3 teaspoon sesame seeds
Get Pinch Hing/asafoetida
Prepare 4 teaspoon oil
Steps to make Handva pudla:
Rinse rice in one bowl and in another bowl all dals and soak in water for 4-hours
Drain excess water from rice and dals and transfer in mixer jar. Blend them add 1/2 cup of curd and salt
Blend it till smooth consistency and than transfer into other bowl and cover the lid and keep in warm place for 7-8 hours
After 8 hours open lid stir the batter and add grated dudhi(lauki) ginger, garlic, green chilli paste. oil and turmeric powder
Add baking soda (cooking soda). Pour tablespoon lemon juice
Heat oil in one pan add mustard seeds when crackle add cumin seeds, sesame seeds and pinch of hing and add into batter
Spread the batter as per size of pan than over with lid and keep it in low flame
Cooked it looks cooked light golden brown than flip it gently to cooked other side. Than transfer into the plate. Handvo pudla is ready to serve
