The ingredients needed to make Gatte ki Sabji:
  1. Make ready For Gatte
  2. Make ready 1 cup Besan
  3. Make ready 1/2 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  4. Get 1/4 tsp Ajwain
  5. Prepare 1/4 tsp Salt
  6. Take About 1/4 tsp Chilli powder / Kashmiri red chilli powder
  7. Take About 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  8. Get 1/8 tsp Baking soda
  9. Make ready 1/2 tbsp Ghee
  10. Take 2 tbsps Curd
  11. Get As Per Required Water
  12. Prepare For gravy / curry
  13. Prepare 1 medium sized onion
  14. Make ready Half inch ginger
  15. Prepare few green chillies as per taste
  16. Take 2 medium sized Tomatoes
  17. Get 2 tbsp Ghee
  18. Prepare 1/4 tsp Ajwain/carom seeds
  19. Take 1/4 tsp Kasuri methi
  20. Take 1 pinch Hing
  21. Get to taste Salt
  22. Get 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  23. Prepare 1 tsp Kashmiri Red chilli powder
  24. Take 1 tsp Coriander powder
  25. Make ready 1-2 tbsps Curd
  26. Take 1 lt to 1.5 lts Water or whey water
Instructions to make Gatte ki Sabji:
  1. For gatte add all ingredients and mix then add the water and form a soft dough but not too soft. - Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes - By that time boil water or whey water.
  2. Form long thin logs about 2 cm to 3 cm thickness and 6 cm long and put it in the boiling water (avoid putting all together as it will bring down the temperature of the water) boil it for 12 minutes or so (it will float once it is cooked). In between add 2 tbsp curd in the Gatte boiling water. - Once done cut it into small pieces (if you want you can deep fry it, I love fried Gatte). Don't throw the Gatte boiled water. - Make a paste of onion ginger and green chilies and puree the tomatoes.
  3. In the meanwhile, add ghee in a Kadai add ajwain and Hing then adds onion, ginger, chili paste and saute it, then add the tomato puree and saute it till its raw flavor goes, add water in between to avoid it from burning, then add Coriander powder, turmeric, red Chilli powder, salt, it, rub and add Kasuri methi then, at last, add the Gatte boiled water to it and bring it to boil. Then add the Gatte and boil for 5-10 minutes. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice.
